Peter,

If your login is an e-mail address, you created a Microsoft Account
as part of the Windows 10 upgrade process.  I just want you to know that
because you will have to create a local account if you really want to be able
to log in without entering a password.  If there is more than one account on
the machine I still think you'll get a log in button on the log in screen, but
no password is required.  I am not certain what happens if your local account
(which would also need to be an administrator account, not standard) is the
only one one the machine.  That may very well take you straight to the desktop,
but you'd have to try it.

You cannot remove a password from a Microsoft Account, period.

If, however, you are logging in using a local account, here are the
steps to remove the password:Open Settings and choose AccountsIn the Accounts
dialog, choose the Sign-In options pane.On the Options pane, activate the
Password buttonIn the Password pane, enter your existing password but leave the
new password and new password verification blank.I can't remember now if the
button for finalizing this is "OK" or "Save" (I think Save) but activate
whatever the affirmative response button is.

You now have a local account without a password.  A warning message that reads,
"You must add a password before you can use the other sign in options," will
now appear beneath the password button.  Since I doubt you want a PIN or
Picture Password this can be ignored.

I have tested this on my Windows 10 machine and I can log in using that local
account without entering any password, though I do have to click a log in
button on the log in screen because I have two other accounts on the machine.

Brian
