I have stopped trying to understand those, and I have good hearing. Trouble is, even when I ask Rob to look at the stuff, the codes are at time visually unclear as well. These captcha codes are a curse and should be obliterated!

Audio captchas are deliberately designed to be difficult to understand to thwart spammers. On many audio captchas, the speech is so garbled and many people , especially those with impaired hearing, find them impossible to understand.
