The Captcha codes are designed so that a web bot can't go onto websites and
perform functions that are meant for a human to perform.

I totally agree with you. I wear hearing aids, and I sometimes have to ask
someone, and sometimes they have a hard time reading them for me. I don't
see the point in captia codes anyway.

Trouble
is, even when I ask Rob to look at the stuff, the codes are at time
visually
unclear as well. These captcha codes are a curse and should be
obliterated!

It doesn't matter whether you have Flash Player or QuickTime installed or
not. Audio captchas are deliberately designed to be difficult to
understand
to thwart spammers. On many audio captchas, the speech is so garbled and
many people , especially those with impaired hearing, find them impossible
to understand.

I think you may have meant captcha codes. Often when this is the case,
you
may need the QuickTime player installed. Some websites require this
player
to be installed before you can hear the audio captchas.
Also, do you have Adobe Flash Player installed?
I believe many audio captchas use this player to stream the audio captcha
code back to you.
Also, I have found that many of the audio captchas simply don't work as
advertised.
