Hmmm, I honestly don't think Thunderbird has ever crashed on me. I
investigated a little; it looks like they still make Forte Agent, but
I've never used it to know if it works with JAWS, and it's not free; it
costs $29.99. It's an old program that's been around since 1994. We
used to have clients who used it under Windows 3.1 back in the day. Now
it's Windows 8 compatible. www.forteinc.com for more info.

Yes, there are several great newsgroups that have traffic. In fact, a lot of
them have less annoying stuff on them now that they require a bit more to

Honestly, I haven't used Usenet since Internet Mail and News for
Windows 95. (Internet Mail and News was the program that became Outlook
Express.) Is there a particular reason you're avoiding Thunderbird? I
love the way it handles my mail.
