Hi, It does seem to me that in the setup for Outlook there is a setting to either leave or remove messages from the list after they have been opened. I never thought of the "unread" message setting. Cy

So after you reply to a message and it closes, it disappears. I'm no Office 2010 expert, but check your view settings and see if you're showing unread messages only.
