Thanks to everybody for this thread. I thought that it was running in the
background but it runs only when you run it. For this you need the
accessible version. Note that I have not verified that the new version is
inaccessible, only that the old one is. I'm not very happy about having to
run old software as it's always possible the newer one has other
"improvements" than the front end, but since I hadn't run a scan in a couple
years and had only one suspicious file in the recycle bin it probably
doesn't make a difference, at least so far.
