I suspect that FS has put no effort into Openbook for a few years, so that I'm not surprised if the recognition quality starts to fall behind. The last best innovation was the Pearl camera. I wish FS would release the Pearl drivers so that it could be used as an input device for other applications. Hint, hint.

I used the same document for both, so there are no variables. I got better results with the JAWS OCR feature. Any ideas out their why this might be? Do I possibly need to change a setting in OpenBook? I've used this three times in the past week or so (all journal articles that had been scanned, uploaded to the publisher's database and never had OCR applied - only the abstracts appear as text). Recognition results were reasonably accurate in all cases - a small sample, of course. _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list [email protected] http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list [email protected] http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list [email protected] http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com
