Hello, I also use Open Book with success and find no problem with reading PDF docx. There was an update which I installed a couple of months ago. I found the update by going to check for updates under the OB help menu.
I have also used Text Cloner but find it not as good as OB. I used the same document for both, so there are no variables. I got better results with the JAWS OCR feature. Any ideas out their why this might be? I've used this three times in the past week or so (all journal articles that had been scanned, uploaded to the publisher's database and never had OCR applied - only the abstracts appear as text).
