Bill, do you mean the option that says show preview handlers in the preview
pane.  That is the only option that I see  in the options that are presented
on my computer.

What this option does is to reduce the current number of tasks being
performed by the processor at a given time. It is related to Windows
Explorer. Often, when people get a message saying that a program is not
responding, this fix seems to help.
