If JFW supports the DoubleTalk-LT or LiteTalk under NT, then it will. It is
just a standard serial device with no drivers, so if the screen reader
supports it, then there is no problem with compatibility between NT and
DoubleTalk-LT.
I'm using the DoubleTalk under JFW with 95 and 98, so I know JFW supports it
in that version of their screen reader, I'd assume it'd work under their NT
as well. Not sure if you'd get a straight answer from HJ on that, but
they'd probably have no reason to lie about that particular compatibility,
since RC Systems or MicroTalk have no NT product on the market yet. I
mention this because Ted Hinter specifically told a couple of DoubleTalk and
LiteTalk users at the NFB convention in New Orleans that JFW wasn't
compatible with those synthesizers and didn't support them. Odd that he'd
say that and still have them listed in the setup and installation menus, and
after those people informed that they were using it on one machine just
fine, he still said that it didn't support them. But when he also stated
that they didn't support any of GW Micro's synthesizers, you could discern a
pattern to why he stated such!
