Hi 
Try hitting alt t while in the awe control pannel for treble or alt b for
bass.  then use your arrow keys to adjust them and hit alt a for apply.
Switch back to your audio application and see if it makes adifference. You
may have to do some experimenting, because those controls don't work with
speech.
