Hope someone here has delt with this issue before. I am getting
conflicting advice all over the place.
I have been using DECtalk PC V4.2B with a 16 bit Win3.1 system. I had
tried to upgrade Dectalk at one time to try to deal with the acute sign
lockup and Dectalk crash problems. I added the upgrade PC1V42CD.exe
but then started getting an even more insidious and more frequant weird
word splitting problem.
My question is, as I start to consider upgrading to a 32 bit system and
JFW 3.2.19, is it necessary for me to purchace a new DECtalk PC4.2CC
synthesizer in order for it to work? I have been told that my old
DECtalk may not work with Win95/98 because of serial port configuration
problems. Would greatly appreciate experienced advice. Many thanks.
