Rich,
It is not only your video card you need to be concerned with,
you also need to be concerned with your video driver. Apparently, some
video cards will support both 16 and 32 bit drivers. When these cards are
running under Win 95, it is my understanding that they usually use 16 bit
drivers. These are usually compatible with JFW. However, some of the
newest Win 98 high performance systems are shipping with 32 bit drivers
installed and these may not be compatible with JFW. It is not completely a
matter of the video adapter, the driver must also be compatible. I have
two Dell systems, one with Win 95 and the other with Win 98. According to
Dell, both have the same video adapter but the Win 98 system won't allow me to
install JFW. Both HJ and Dell say this is because the Win 98 system has a
32 bit driver and the Win 95 system has a 16 bit driver supporting the video
adapter. Same adapter, different drivers. One works and the other
doesn't. If there is a 16 bit video driver available for your adapter that
is compatible with Win 98, this might help out. In my case, there
wasn't.
Again, I am only trying to pass along what I just learned
myself within the last week.
Good Luck...
Jeff
