Kelly,
Use your read status line function to do what you are asking about. The
status line if selected in your current view will tell you how many mail
items are in the current folder.
As for your second question, you can disable the preview display for each
folder by using the view menu options.

Subject: Outlook 98
Could someone out there who is familiar with Outlook 98 give me a couple of
pointers on how to make it a bit more JFW friendly. I currently use Outlook
Express and like to know how many items are in a list - I press Insert Tab
and might be told "Message 31 of 88" for example. I can't get Outlook to
tell me this. Also, is there some way of turning off the previewinf feature?
If this is a bit off topic please reply privately. Oh, are there new scripts
out for this package or should I use those which came with JFW 3.2?
Thanks in advance,
Kellie.
