Hello!
Are you sure that the searching is being done by JFW? One common reason
that the A drive is often searched at startup is that the documents menu is
full of documents that have been previously opened. If like me you never
use the documents menu it is a good idea to clear it out every so often. To
do this go into the settings menu and select taskbar.
Go to the start menu programs tab. tab till you hit the clear document menu
button and press enter.

Isn't this to do with something which was fixed in jfw 3.2, I.e. didn't jaws
used to look for a key in the floppy drive first even if there was one on
the hard drive?

The thing is that the key is already on drive c: but still Jfw searches
drive a: for a disk with the key which is not there and not needed.
