Hi Glenn.
I expect that you have some damaged dll files that Internet Explorer
uses. One test I would suggest you to use is to run the computer
without loading JFW. Then try the same page that you had the problems
with and see if the text is missing or not. This might determine if
the problem is with JFW or IE 4. It might not hurt to see if you have
the latest service pack for IE4 installed.
cheers
sean.

Hi Listers,
I am a computer teacher, not a technician, but I'm trying to help a
friend diagnose a problem she is having with Internet Explorer 4.0.
When she uses JFW's Insert F5 command to reformat an HTML document,
the
first screen usually appears normally. There will typically be 3 or 4
blank screens after that. Then the last line or two of the document
appears correctly at the bottom of the final screen. JAWS cannot read
anything in the blank areas.
She is also having an intermittent problem which may or may not be
related. When HTML documents are first loaded, the text sometimes
looks
like it has been partially erased in horizontal streaks. In other
words, part of letters and words may be missing from the screen. In
this instance, however, JAWS can usually still read the text.
Any ideas where to start trouble-shooting this?
