Unfortunately, each screen reader currently uses a proprietary format for
graphics labels, so one program will generally not recognize graphics
labeled by another. I have suggested that Microsoft develop a standard
format that could serve as a common deminotor, allowing each screen reader
to import graphics labels by others. Similarly, it would be helpful to
the blind community if there was a common, nonproprietary format for
character, word, and pointer dictionaries.
