its not a problem, according to what i was told the number assigned to a
graphic is done by win 95 or 98.
that value is maid by some calculation on the part of windows, but the number
of colors or resolution will change the value.
i heard this from hj but not from the chief programer so this may not be
entirely right.
for non programer types that definition is enough.
so from system to system the video card or monitor should make no differance.
if hj had picked super v g a to standardize on it would work provideing the
people all had super v g a
monitors.
all monitors support v g a so hj standardized on that.
in the last year 2 things have happened to drop monitor prices, one is the new
19 inch size.
now 17 inch sizes cost 300 pushing super v g a plus, 1024 by 760, down to 100
dollars in 14 inch size.
with that said, plus the fact that resolution allows more info on screen hj
should consider that jump.
a third reason for the jump is to integrate jfw with magic, higher resolution
results in a sharper picture.
it may be wise for hj to still support standard v g a for another year or two
so that older monitors still work.
