Hi, Dan. First, let me tell you I understand your frustration with the
Acrobat reader and Internet Explorer for I am having the exact same problem
at work myself. I worked a long time to figure out how to translate the
instructions for Netscape into something Internet explorer could work with,
I put it away because it frustrated me but I'm going to have to go back to
it because our Intranet at work puts PDF files up there with manuals and
other information I need.
The problem, as you know, is that for some reason internet browsers and
the Access plug-in are incompatible. If we were not using the plug-in,
acrobat PDF files would display perfectly for someone looking at the screen,
but of course we could not read them. I wrote to Adobe on this, I e-mailed
the Access support people directly but I never received a response.
What I tried to do was to save the Acrobat files as they come up in my
borser so that JFW can then read them off-line. Unfortunately, this has not
worked for me as Acrobat will usually crash.
I will look into Internet Explorer again and see if I can make all thre
work together, IE, Acrobat, and JAWS. Please reply privately if you want to
discuss this further.
