well jenn, this problem occurs with many applications.
though it does seem like your problem is a typical.
first hj has 2 ways one can configure the dec talk express.
one way is the t driver.
the other way is the old dos driver.
changeing this may help, of course it may not help.
of course if you use jaws for dos then the old dos driver is the only way to
go.
vocal eyes works with both drivers.
or maybe you do not have a stand alone dos screen reader.
now that you understand all that, you can decide to try another driver.
also did you realize that dec talk, actually digital has differant versions of
firmware for that synth.
this is differant than the driver.
their may be an upgrade.
personally i am not a dec talk user.
so not sure what works best with jfw, nor do i know how old your stuff is.
