Hi, to my knowledge, Outlook is not deleting things unless you specifically
tell it to. The compacting message you get compresses the folders down and
gets rid of wasted empty spaces previously used up by deleted messages. If
you want to back up your folders, you might want to try the export or import
functions, depending on how you want to back up the folders and what program
you want to use to read them later.
