Walt,
I tried very seriously to use the OED. No luck. Even tried all kinds of
options. No success. The main problem is not so much the layout of the
windows screens -- rather it is all the different fonts and diacritical
marks for derivations, pronunciation, etymologies using multiple languages
from ancient to modern.
Wish all this could be mittigated. But not likely any time soon.
