Carol,
I am the one who is having problems with me Dec2 internal. I installed a
driver from I think the dec sight. It is a driver; pc2v42cd.exe. This
driver is supposed to work for faster chips and dec.
My Dec 2 internal is horrable. It speaks the letters at random, cuts the
words in half. etc.
What I am about to do which now scares me is; I am switching the internal
for an external. Guess you think this is a terrable idea? Can you explain
in specifics what its doing? How can I duplicate this once I get mine?
Do you think I should get my money back for it and buy a cheap but fast
card? Guess the tough thing is once you get use to the sound of a dec, its
tough to go back.
Do you feel it is fair to sell a defective, a known defective product and
wipe your hands of all responsibility cause we were suposed to know about
it going in? Really hard to beleive its almost the next milinuim, and we
still have such arcaic mentalities out there.
What would you do, and what are you going to do with yours? I'd really
like to know. How many out there know about the Dec and all these problems?
This is what I would be interested in knowing.
Sorry to Beth Hatch to whom I sent my response to. It was the wrong
person. Sorry Beth.
Carol, please keep in touch with this, I'd be interested in knowing what
you did about this.
