well steven i had to laugh after reading your message,
boy did i ever buy win zip, i bought it 3 times in 2 weeks.
each time i requested it on cd rom, each time i got it on floppy.
so my copy is legit.
yes the message that says you need to do a custom install to make a self
extractor was correct.
thanks for that valuable piece of info.
not sure why it is not loaded as a default.
seeing as how the only option one can add when doing a custom install is that
one single feature.
also not sure why it takes to steps to make a self extractor file.
does anybody know if the upgraded program they sell can do it in one step.

the 32 bit p k command line program can do this.
but i am looking for a win based program.
i do like win zip classic view but i also wonder if that part is upgraded
like the wizard part is.
maybe that is why it is 2 steps.
i did a right mouse click and expected it to say make extractor
well no luck.
so what step do i do after getting
a zip file.
i also like the fact win zip can zip and unzip many file formats
like cab files.
