Does your sound card work otherwise in Windows (i.e. it can play wav
files) but the JFW installation does not speak? What synth are you trying
to use on com2? If you perform a custom installation of JFW (vs. the
"standard installation") and pick the synth you will be using on com2
(i.e. "DecTalk Express, win95 only) you will then be asked which comport
you would like to use and you can select com2 from the list. There is
also a posability that the port which you believe is com2 is actually
another comport (like com3) but this is more of a long shot.
