Firstly, you should nto upgrade to NT.
NT is a downgrade from windows95, *not* as is commonly touted, an upgrade.
NT 4.0 does not support plug and play, nor does it support active accessability.
Coupled with the fact that its as unstable as all hell, and that JawsNT is on the
order of $700US dearer,
NT is currently not a viable upgrade path for a visually impaired person.
That said, you should have no trouble upgrading to windows98 with your current system.
In fact, with the possible assistance of a sighted person during the hardware
detection phase in case it doesnt detect something properly,
You can even do the upgrade on your own too.
Be aware that while installing win98 will not harm your jaws key, you should not
undertake the conversion to fat32 which you will be offered a chance to do until you
have removed your jaws key from your hard drive.
Once you have converted your drive to fat32 you can reinstall the jaws key and
everything will be as it should be.
If you need speech to do the conversion you should use a key off your jaws disk,
that is, have the jaws disk in the drive when jaws is started, that way jaws will find
the key on the disk and will speak.
