Hello list. It's nice to be back on the Net. As you know, I was in the
market for a new system. I tried several companies Gateway, Dell, and
Compaq. After a month of trial and error, I'm convinced the Compaq
Presario 5600I system is the best buy.
I'm currently using a 500 MHZ Pentium 3 system, Rage LT Pro video card,
Monster Sound II sound card, etc. The only problem I had was with the ATI
Rage LT pro video card. Needed to download and install an older 16 bit
driver from ATI Tech web site. After doing so, JFW 3.031 works great with it.
The best thing about the Compaq Presario, nothing was integrated into the
motherboard (Hurray!). It's also packed with many features that no other
company offers (At least to my knowledge). Like for instance, 4 USB ports
and the new Fire port technology (For Digital cameras, etc.), cable modem
ready, etc. No, I'm not an employee, just thought I would inform some of
you. Who knows, you may be in the market to buy a new system.
I'm sure I've missed many great discussions on the list in the past month.
Hopefully, I can catch up (Have a lot of backup E-mail to read). If anyone
could summarize any new informative information, pertaining to JFW during
the month of March, please let me know.
