GETTING ELOQUENCE TO WORK

Hi.  
Could anyone possibly help me.  
When I try to use JFW with Eloquence, it doesn't speak through my
soundblaster pro card but when I am using other softwar for playing sound
files or when windows starts up, sound is played.  
I have a Prema computer if this helps.  
It was a 486 but has been upgraded.  
When I change synthesisers from my Apolo to Eloquence I don't get any
speech at all.
