First, the meaning of beta testing is to TEST the new version. That
includes "picking it apart" and discussing what is wrong. This is, as I see
it, a privilege that h-j extends to us. They already have beta testers
working on it, strictly speaking, they don't have to let us see it until
they send it out. There was a time when they did exactly that and none of
us liked it.
Most of what I've seen so far is people getting used to using a new system,
and not real problems. However, some of what we've found are real problems;
and that's what we expected to find.
Secondly, you didn't pay for this. Part of the beauty of the h-j
authorization system--and there aren't many beautiful things about it--is
that you don't have to upgrade until you want to. You can wait until jfw5,
if you want to.
In short, if you haven't upgraded yet, I would advise you not to. I waited
a couple of days before I upgraded to see if anyone reported problems
getting back to jfw3.2, but that was my comfort zone. Obviously, you
haven't reached yours yet.
Remember, usually, the worst system you'll ever have is the new one you are
going to, and the best one is the one you are replacing. That's just the
nature of the game. We like what we are use to, and resist change until we
are use to it.
