Actually it doesn't make a lot of sense to me since the beta has an
expiration date. In fact, a lot of betas are available free so that
users can have the opportunity to help work out the bugs. Granted, it
goes both ways and I am not trying to insinuate that everybody gives
away betas. But as I say, considering the expiration it makes no
sense.
In fact, I would go further to say that to give access might make some
people realize the value of the update and purchase it. But I
wouldn't expect HJ to realize this. One could also argue that the 40
minute time limit gives the user ample opportunity to realize the
greatness of the update. However, I would say that the 40 minute time
limit would only tend to infuriate me! I would probably be in the
midst of doing something important when it timed out. Hence I might
totally stop using the product altogether!
