Walter,
Error control in a Modem helps can help keep you connected. If you had
line noise with some modems error control will keep the connection. But
some modems have problems with it because of the driver version or type of
modem Example 56k with x2 connecting to a 56k flex or V.90 access number.
the modem with error control check will stop you from connecting or
dropping connecting. Also modem speed can drop your connection. If your
modem is set for 115200 and is a 56k your connection may drop.
