Hi,
I can help you with a majority of your problems.
First, a simple one. Insert f9 always says no frames found on page, it
does on mine and I've unchecked everything. It should work fine in
internet explorer so I wouldn't worry about it. You've got bigger
problems based on your message.
The dectalk express, there could be a million things wrong here and I'm
not sure what. You could be loading the digital drivers, most likely not,
or 98 could be trying to grab the comport. In retrospect that's probably
why it's not speaking, you need to disable 98's use of com2. Consult
Bill's software faq, that should have something in it reguarding dec
express's if I remember correctly. If not, repost that part of the
question and perhaps someone can help you.
Finally, your last few problems, not being able to read the task bar,
or folders in my computer, this is all the result of the 98 view
settings. There are several things you have to turn off, the addressbar,
amongst them. I'll describe them below.
First go to my computer, and hit enter on it. Now, do an alt v, this
brings up the view menu. Arrow down to explorer bar, right arrow in to
this submenu, whether jfw chooses to announce it we'll fix that in a
minute. Once your in the submenu arrow to none and ensure it's checked.
If not, hit enter to check it. This closes the view menu, reopen it with
alt v, arrow down to view as web page, and ensure that's unchecked. You
really don't want this. Now, this will enable jfw to read more properly
or more like you'd want it to.
Next, go to your hard drive, hit enter on it, and follow the above
steps, turn the explorer bar off, and ensure the view as web page is not
on. After this is done, go back in to the view menu, and arrow to
properties. This is where you set viewing properties, set them to your
liking. There's also an option to make all folders look the same. I
personally recommend this because it makes looking through them easier.
It's a button, when You have everything configed properly, hit enter on
it and your done.
Now close my computer and you should notice jfw reading much better.
You'll be on your desktop, tab until you hear something between the start
button and the task bar called the tool bar. Once you hear jfw say tool
bar do a shift f10, this brings up a context menu. Right arrow in to the
toolbars submenu, then down arrow to quick launch checked, hit enter to
uncheck it and jfw should read great.
If you need further help let me know privately. If anyone else has any
questions e-mail me as well.
Hope this helps.
Dave.
