Media Ring is horrible. I didn't have the problems you did, but when
I installed it, found it was another server-based phone program, and
tried to remove it, it left traces of itself all over the place,
didn't remove itself from the startup menus, didn't shut itself down
like it was supposed to prior to removal ... it was just a bad deal
all around. Get rid of it as quickly and easily as you can.
