Teresa and others,
Winamp works very well with JFW. The Winamp window is a little like
the JFW window in that there's nothing to tab to when it's opened.
Nearly everything is done with hotkeys.
Type a lower case l to open a browse window to locate the files you
want to play, then just hit enter on the file. You can also select
multiple files to be played in this way.
Press an upper case L to open a different browse window where you
choose a folder containing audio files and Winamp will play all the
files in the specified folder.
There are lots of other options all having hotkeys. ALT-F4 will exit
Winamp.
Finally, there is a preferences menu where you can specify the file
types that you want Winamp to play. I think by default these are all
turned on which is why the one person had problems with Winamp playing
files he didn't want it to play. You can go into the preferences and
turn these off so that a different player will be used. Personally,
I'd suggest that you just allow Winamp to play mp3 files and leave the
others to either the Real Player or mplayer as usually defined.
