IRC and JFW

Hi.  Is anyone using JFW with a chat client for IRC?  If so, what are you
using?  I am fighting with Mirc, but it doesn't make much sense to me.  I
don't like how it has the names of the people in the chat room on the right
and then the text of the chat on the left.  It just sounds confusing to me.
 I liked IRC much better from my shell.  Unfortunately, my ISP got rid of
shell accounts.  <sigh>
