Speaking of giving up the audio functions, there was a key combination in
jfw3.2 provided by the enhanced default scripts from this list
(insert+ctrl+s) which muted your synthesizer. I used this all the time to
get jfw out of the way for anticipated audio action on my sound card.
Interestingly enough, the script used to mute your synthesizer has been
included in the new scripts for jfw3.3, but the hotkey connection was never
made.
So, if you go into the default keyboard manager with insert+8, find the
script named "MuteSynthesizer" and assign it to insert+ctrl+s, you have the
good old mute synthesizer back again.
