IRC and JFW

Hi.  Is anyone here using JFW with a chat client on IRC?  I have tried
using Mirc, but I find its interface to be very cluttered and confusing.  I
don't like having the name of everyone in the chat room listed beside the
text of the chat.  It makes it confusing to keep track of who's talking.
I'd appreciate any advice.  TIA.
