OK folks, I've been sitting here, copying all the mail on the 3.3 beta
and final release. I've seen pros and cons galore, problems and
solutions, and some problems without solutions. I am currently not
entitled to an upgrade--i.e., my SMA has expired--so I can't install
it even if I wanted to. My question is, given what you know about
3.3, is it worth going for the next SMA, or should I pass this one by
and wait for the next release and continue on with 3.2? You should
also know that, by and large, 3.2 has been working excellently for me
on the two Windows 95 platforms on which it is installed, and also the
Windows 98 machine I sometimes use it on. My primary uses for JFW are
Internet software such as Agent, Internet Explorer and Netscape, music
software such as Cakewalk, Winamp, CD-Copy, .MP3 Producer Pro,
RealAudio (all products, including the new jukebox system), etc. In
my ofice, I use Lotus Notes Version 4.6, Kermit for Windows 95
V1.1.17, Reflections (sometimes), the Reflections FTP client, and
occasionally the Reflections-X product for getting into XWindows-based
systems which works--wel--kinda-sorta. Knowing all of that, is it
worth going for this SMA? Any and all responses, flames, rotten eggs,
graciously accepted publicly or privately.
