Greetings.
Ever since being told by kind people at HJ Sales that HAWS worked
perfectly in foreign languages like French and Spanish, I and others have
been concerned about the fact that accent marks are read so badly.
Now things are no better in 3.3.
People do and have written mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED].
Besides urging users of foreign languages to try to get the attention
of HJ regarding this problem, what is the fair way to raise the issue that
has been allowed or ignored to go unresolved for so long?
I think that JAWS software is excellent and it is.
I as one who shares a computer with others wish that when one changes
certain color background colors, enlarges the mouse pointer or uses a
disability modality provided by Microsoft that JAWS would work well with
those changes (that Microsoft built into the operating system). i have
spoken with others who have tried using the disability functions in the
operating system--and there are a lot of them so I shortened the list
(above)--but then the reading quality of JAWS is compromised.
I mention this since it appears that finally that people are monitoring
the list.
Good. i await with confidence that some day these issues will be
addressed and that a fine product like JAWS willl be made even better.
Microsoft put the ability to change certain aspects of the desktop
appearance line enlarging fonts or mouse pointer since elderly people like
those features also. Who is any thrid party software vendor to decide that
those options may NOT be used with their product if Microsoft provided them
for a purpose?
JAWs should work with the simultaneous use of any disabled function
built into the operating system. And when it does read as well with as it
would read without altering background colors or using disabled options,
then this marvelous excellent software will be even finer.
i write this since the JAWS software was well designed and perhaps
others will write and ask for better foreign language support and better
support for disability options that is in Windows 98 and 95 operating
systems.
