No problem Matt. I have actually figured it out.
I am running a Novel server 4.1 and my clients use Win98 in a computer lab.
The problem as you know was I am not able to backup the authorization key if I
install it locally on the machines. The reason is the authorization key does
not get backup to the master image that my PCs use for refreshing the image.
The way I have installed JAWS 3.3 on the network is as follows:
1) I have created a subdirectory. on my network called //apps/jaws33. I then
mapped that subdirectory to a drive e.g. "i:". The mapping was done with the
root option clicked in Win98. In other words "i:" root refers to the path
"//apps/jaws33".
2) Then installed JAWS 3.3 to the mapped drive e.g. "i:" in a subdirectory
created by default by the install program.
3) At the end of the setup I was asked for the authorization disk to run JAWS.
I clicked the "Cancel" button and exited the program without installing the
authorization key.
4) Once I was out of the setup from the command prompt I ran the utility
"hjauth.exe" on the authorization disk that came with JAWS 3.3. The utility
gives you the option to copy the authorization key to any drive you choose
e.g. "i:" So I did exactly that.
5) That's it. JAWS can run from the network as long as you give your users
READ/WRITE access not MODIFY to drive "i:" This way your users can access the
set files without modifying them.
