Tuesday I received my JFW 3.3 upgrade disk and installed it. All went
well, like some of the new features, however, one major problem! When
I tried to dial in to get mail my computer gave me an error, told me
to re-install my original software, impossible since a I downloaded IE
4.0 and my 3.2 disk from my provider will not install. If I switched
back to 3.2 I could dial in fine, no problems. The 3.3 just refuses
to allow me to dial. I finally uninstalled it because I was getting
errors regardless of which software I was using, restored my IE files
from a backup tape and my windows directory. I am now in 3.2 again,
after having been through this process twice in two days.
What should I be looking for as a conflict? Where would I look?
I read through several ini files last evening and saw no conflict, my
autoexe and configsys files have no reference to JFW, and I ran
regclean with no problems detected.
I am using Windows 95 on a pentium II 266 with 64 mb of RAM, ATI Rage
video which never bothered JFW 3.2, and IE 4.01.
