Hello,

I am using Partition Magic on my computer. The windows version isn't easy
to use but there is also a DOS programme which comes with it which uses a
command line interface and works just fine.

Once you have more than one partition however there is a small problem.
When you boot your computer it comes up with the partition menu before any
speech. You can only tell it is time to make a choice by the sound of the
diagnostic testing of the disk drives and yoiu

>you have to know what partition you were last in. If you do nothing, after
some seconds the computer will boot from the last accessed partition or if
you wack enter. If you wish to boot from one of the other partitions you
use the arrow up or down, then wack enter. So far as I can figure there is
no way around this because at start-up there is no operating system loaded.

I believe the URL for Partition Magic is:

http://www.powerquest.com

I had my vendor load it onto my system, she told me she had a problem with
the windows version because of the size of my hard drive, apparently there
is a graphic showing how much space you are allocating to the various
partitions, my drive is a little over 9 gigs so the graphic stretched well
beyond the screen limits and could not be used. Good old DOS to the rescue
again.

Another advantage of Partition Magic over System Commander is that you can
alter partition sizes at any time apparently safely should you later have
the need to do so. I have never attempted this however. I believe it is
also a little more expensive but I really don't remember.

Hope this helps.
