I have not used this program myself, but I understand that an
accessible program for editing sound files is called Sound Forge.
It's made by a company called Sonic Foundary, but I'm not sure of
their web site address. A good source for information on this topic
is the pc-audio mailing list. You can subscribe by sending a blank
