Sounic Foundry is--where else?--at http://www.sonicfoundry.com and
there are two versions of Sound Forge--one for fifty bucks, and, if
you upgrade to the full version, it's three hundred, vs. a lot more if
you it first.

Another tood program for about two hundred dollars is FastEdDit,
spelled just like that.  There's a demo you can download from their
web site that allows you to do everything but save a file, and there
are scripts available in JFW to help use this program.  I don't
remember the web address for the company, but it's from Minnetonka
Software, findaable on the web.
