I think you hit on it but more than you think. The Color Schemes combo box
was blank. I too have used others but had settled on Windows Standard.
That is where I had left it long ago but somehow that box was empty.
Resetting to Windows Standard has made a big difference. Mainly, it doesn't
call every message unread. It does repeat "Selected" twice when reading
current line but it correctly states Read or Unread. Now when I move with
the arrow keys it states those Unread but does not state Read. I can live
with that. Is that how it works for you?
