Hi.

I may be able to clearify what is happening with the Open dialog in IE5 with
respect to being able use the arrow keys to select from a drop down list of
previously visited URLS.

As long as the string you are typing exactly matches a previously entered
URL the dropdown list is visible and you can use the arrow key to browse the
list. However, once the string you are typing in the edit field differes
from what any of the entries in the previously visited list the list
disappears.
For example if you previously visited the URL www.abc.com and you type
www.abd.com in the edit field the drop down list is visible until you type
the d in abd. Of course this is assuming that there are no entries in the
list with the string www.ab in it. Hopefully this isn't confusing.

Vince.

I know what you are saying and it works similar but not exactly as you
describe. The web address as it is being typed brings up a combo box in ie
5 and you can down arrow. I know I've said that before and I went back and
double checked and find that internet explorer works as I have stated on my
machine. I have a friend who is checking to see if his box does as mine. I
suspect that the different revisions of internet explorer present
AutoComplete in different forms. neither of them is wrong nor right as both
work although differently.
