Sorry, I wasn't able to get back to you sooner. Yes, this is sometimes true
about disabling the comport in Windows and making sure it is enabled in the
CMOS.

If you choose the DECtalk PC/Express option, isn't it also necessary to
disable the COM port that the Express is connected to in Windows and then
make certain it is still enabled in BIOS Setup? I seem to recall this to
be true from past discussions.
