jim not sure why hj does not modify their install instructions.
while it is true that you can disable the com port in win 9 x, which is
tricky because plug and play may also change c mos settings on some
systems. requireing the user to have to edit c mos.
something a blind person can not do.
though i do have some tricks from les how to work around this problem of
course it does not always work either.
thanks to some vocal eyes users we found a much easier way to do this.
and hj could tell the install program to insert the following fix.
open System.ini. Search for the 386 Enhanced
mode section, just search for 386 twice, and insert:
com1autoassign=0
that is all the install needs to do and it should work.
