OE--date and time not speaking

I noticed on my sister's machine that when a mess is highlighted In OE 4,
the date and
time do not speak.  She gets the rest of the header except for that.  Once
the message is opened, then she can give JFW the proper commands to speak
those fields.  I thought i checked all the settings to maximize
accessibility--any clue?  Thanks.Betsey Doane, K1EIC
