I have been desperately searching for Money or Quicken 98 and not having any lucki. On this list, we are recommending programs that are apparently no longer being sold, and there seems to be no commitment from either HJ or anyone else to update the scripts or write nwe ones. It is apparent, from the traffic on this list, that thisissue needs more attention from HJ. Is it possible for any of our talented script writiers to improve the quicken 98 scripts, or write scripts for a financial program we can actually find on the shelves? I am not meanign this as a flame or criticism, but as a blind person and a technology consultant, this is getting frustrating. It is said that by 2003, we will be deeply entrenched in online banking and bill paying. This would allow for greater independence among the blind community, and yet we cannot get a package to work, and keep it up to date. why do we need a new version of Quicken or Money every year? Isn't this gettng a little out of hand? So, my immediate question is: where can I trck down Money 98 or quicken 98 for purchase. I did a search and the closest I found was an auction of Money 98 on Yahoo that had closed in May. I want to start doing my finances in the computer, but have nowhere to turn. Money 99 is not working and neither is Quicken. We need new scripts. Is anybody going to work on scripts for these programs that would allow us access to the registers of any account we have and online banking and bill paying? I am not concerned about financial planning, portfolio stuff, or stock quotes at this time. II want to be able to ballance my checkbook, keep track of my charge cards and savings accounts, and pay my bills electronically. Maybe the financial planners would be nice for planning on finally moving out of my parents house and planning on my retirement, but that is something that could come along later. We need some system of keeping these programs up to date. We need to get on Intuit's tail and Microsoft's tail to get these things done. This is a great independence tool and somehow we are not getting this to where we need it. We need to make HJ move this up on the importance list. As far as I am concerned, this is just as important as making Microsoft ffice work. And I find it interesting that icrosoft, the hero of accessibility, can't put out a financial product accessible to the blind. These guys just don't give a damn, do they? champions of accessibility, my left foot. They slap msaa in office 2000 and ie5, why can't they do that in Money? OK, slide off the soapbox. So, where to find Money 98 or quicken 98, which program willl allow me to ballance my accounts and pay my bills, and how can we get money 99 or quicken 99 working for us, and how can we keep up with these rapidly upgraded products? If anybody has ideas or suggestions, email me. This is one of my assignments for the technology center I work for and Ias a blindperson, I really want this access. Thanks for the time and appologies for the length. -- Damon Fibraio, -- Associate for Technical Support, De Witt and Associates Norma Krajczar Technology, Resource, and Developement Center 130 Livingstone Ave. new Brunswick, NJ 08901 phone: 732-937-6394, fax 732-729-6561 email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Visit the jfw ml web page: http://jfw.cjb.net
